Trophy with five stars

The results of our 2021 Cybersecurity Awareness Month competitions are in! Our office has selected seven lucky winners. If you’re a winner, we will contact you at your WUSTL email address to request the information we need to deliver your award. If you didn’t win this time, don’t despair! Read on for information about future opportunities to play and win.

2021 InfoSec Competitions

This year, 925 people participated in our competition activities. Participation in our “Test Your Knowledge” challenge more than doubled over last year, from 330 participants in 2020 to 724 participants in 2021. We held our first-ever student competition involving reporting simulated phishing attempted using the Phish Alert Button (PAB). We had 83 student entries, and many of the students accurately reported all five of our simulated phishes, receiving one drawing entry per PAB-reported phish. We look forward to seeing even more participants in next year’s competitions!

This year, we gave away both Bear Bucks awards and exciting devices. A breakdown of our prizes is below:

Test Your Knowledge

  • $250 in Bear Bucks x 4
  • $500 in Bear Bucks x 1

Student Competition

  • Oculus VR Headset x 1
  • Nintendo Switch and MarioKart bundle x 1

Keep On Playing to Win

Since these competitions were so much fun, we’ve decided to keep playing all year long! In addition to our annual Cybersecurity Awareness Month competitions, we will begin offering regular prize-entry opportunities in our newsletter throughout the year (starting now!). Please read our monthly newsletter to find out how to get entered. This month, you can enter our drawing for $100 in Bear Bucks credit by accurately completing the infosec InfoSec linked below! The answers to the challenge questions are all contained in the content of this newsletter. The winner will be selected randomly from those with the highest score in the challenge. Please stay tuned for additional opportunities to win in the coming months!
