Advanced Encryption Standard

The Advanced Encryption Standard (AES) is an algorithm that uses a specific encryption
procedure to protect sensitive or classified information, usually by the U.S. government.
The National Institute of Standards and Technology developed the AES as a response to
older encryption methods that were increasingly vulnerable to brute-force
attacks.
