Data Loss Prevention (DLP)

Data Loss Prevention (DLP) refers to strategies to ensure sensitive and Protected Data are not exposed, lost, used inappropriately, or accessed without authorization. DLP programs such as Digital Guardian identify sensitive and Protected Data according to predefined rules and policies and continuously monitor how those data are used, transmitted and stored. Ultimately, DLP programs help enforce university policies about how data can be accessed, shared, used, or stored.
