CUI – Training and Resources
Training
All faculty and staff who may come into contact with Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) data in their course of performing their job duties are required to take training annually. The training required depends upon your job, and the nature of your interaction with CUI data here at the university.
Researchers and the staff who work with them (including students) should complete the following training annually.
Note: Once you complete the training, it will auto-assign to you annually on April 10
- Completing the DoD Mandatory CUI Training (Learn@Work: 5 minutes plus approx 1 hr for the DoD training on the CDSE website)
- Protecting CUI Data at WashU: Research Staff (Learn@Work: 20 minutes)
- Insider Threats (Learn@Work: 10 minutes)
You must successfully pass the assessment at the end of the DoD Mandatory CUI training, and submit your certificate of completion to the CUI team.
IT Staff who provide technical support to research teams handling CUI data should complete the following training annually.
Note: Once you complete the training, it will auto-assign to you annually on April 10.
- IT Support for Researchers Working with CUI Data (Learn@Work: 20 minutes)
IT Staff who operate and maintain the WUSTL-Secure Enclave environment for storing and working with CUI data should complete the following training annually.
