Traveling with WashU information presents security concerns. Encrypted devices help to reduce risk of loss or theft of private or proprietary information. The Information Security Office can help you to encrypt your devices before scheduled travel. And Washington University Information Technology provides loaner laptops for WashU faculty and staff that have registered on the Travel Registry site. The loaner device will be configured to access Office365, WUSTL Box, and remote access back to Washington University resources. You can find more information about traveling internationally with devices here. If you would like to order a loaner laptop, you will find the appropriate form here. Officials in some countries inspect electronic devices and may download material from them. Some countries have encryption import restrictions that prevent you from encrypting data on your device. Protect yourself and the university by not taking any sensitive or private information with you. You can also visit global.wustl.edu for more travel information.
