WashU IT has moved the University’s Cisco email encryption service to Microsoft Purview, aiming to simplify access and enhance communication clarity. When sending an email from Microsoft Outlook 365, you may utilize “Encrypt”, “Private”, “Protected”, or “Secure” anywhere in the subject line and include square brackets [ ] around the word to send secure encrypted messages.
Benefits of Microsoft Purview:
- Encrypted emails provide less friction for both senders and recipients
- Addresses researchers’ needs for more user-friendly email solutions
- Enhance security
- Streamline encryption
