Privacy & Security Liaison Lists

Each department or program on the Medical Campus has a staff member designated as the Department Privacy Liaison.  Each privacy liaison is responsible for:

  • Ensuring existing and new employees (faculty and staff) within the department complete any required HIPAA training
  • Responding to HIPAA questions from patients or employees. Acting as a resource for questions from staff within the department
  • Coordinating with the University’s Privacy Office the self-monitoring and self-reporting components of HIPAA compliance
  • Facilitating the audits of HIPAA compliance with the University’s Office of Internal Audit
  • Assisting in the resolution of HIPAA investigations
  • Keeping the department up to date on HIPAA issues through interaction with the University Privacy Office
