WEBINAR: Careers in Cybersecurity and Student Prize Competition

October 20, 2021
5:00 pm - 6:00 pm

Did you know that there are more than three million open positions in cybersecurity today? There is a huge demand for cybersecurity professionals today, and the Bureau of Labor Statistics predicts that this trend will continue for the next decade and beyond. This high demand means opportunity, competitive salaries, and job security.

Effective cybersecurity requires more than just technical skills. It is a multidisciplinary profession fusing technology, behavioral science, and communications, among other fields.

This exciting event will feature:

•  Insights about working in cybersecurity from WashU Computer Science major, Skylar Fong (Class of 2023)

•  Comments on the multidisciplinary needs of this growing field from WashU Chief Information Security Officer (CISO), Chris Shull

•  The launch of our student InfoSec competition with an opportunity to win an Oculus VR headset or a Nintendo Switch Lite. To win, students will need to demonstrate their ability to recognize and report phishing attacks.  Details will be provided during the event.
